HOW TO ADJUST YOUR SKINCARE FOR THE NEW SEASON

SEASONAL (SKIN)SITION

Transitioning your skincare from your Spring/Summer routine to Fall/Winter routine doesn’t have to be difficult! Paying attention to the changes in your skin and using the proper products for what your skin needs in the moment is an important step to keep your skin healthy and glowing! Follow these 3 tips to get prepared for the coming cold snap and stay moisturized all season long!

* Retaining moisture and protecting your skin barrier is key! Be sure to exfoliate your skin at least twice a week and apply your favorite body oil or body butter while your skin is damp to lock in moisture. Taking shorter and not so hot showers is also a great way to help your skin retain moisture.

* With the colder weather outside comes warmer air inside. Running the heater consistently causes the air in your space to be drier. Help your skin retain moisture by using a humidifier or diffuser in all your rooms (and they’re also great for plants) and adding a facial steamer to your daily skincare routine to unclog pores, hydrate the skin and help your products penetrate beyond the outer layer of your skin.

* Consider adding a hyaluronic acid to your skincare routine. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant which helps to attract moisture from the air and helps the skin to hold onto water. Use after your toner and before your moisturizer morning and night.
