Double Cleansing is a tried and true two step cleansing method with amazing benefits!
This method involves using our Skin Oil to pre cleanse to remove makeup, SPF, oil, dirt and any other impurities your skin has collected throughout the day. Our Rosemary + Geranium Face Wash deep cleans without drying out your skin. These two used together create a dynamic duo that takes your skincare routine to the next level and with consistently will help your skin's texture, brightness and clarity. This method is great for all skin types and is a beneficial part of your quest for glowing skin.
But I don't wear makeup...
The Double Cleansing Method is not only for makeup wearers. You still want to precleanse to prep the skin by getting rid of all of the environmental impurities your skin has accumulated during the day.
First you want to use an oil cleanser by massaging it into the skin in an upward motion for about 1 minute. This will break down and begin to pull out everything from your pores. Our Rose + Orange Hydrating Skin Oil or Tea Tree + Lavender Clarifying Skin Oil rinses clean or can be removed with a washcloth or our Glowing Skin Sponge.
Once you've pre- cleansed, it's time to deep clean your skin with a cream or gel based cleanser to deep clean and remove any traces (if any) of oil, dirt and grime. Just a couple of pumps of our Rosemary + Geranium Face Wash massaged into the skin will completely cleanse your skin without drying it out. As part of your skin cycling routine, you can use our 3% Glycolic Acid Face Cleanser to deep clean and gently exfoliate the skin. Once you have lathered either of these amazing cleansers on your skin for about a minute, remove by rinsing off your face or remove with our Glowing Skin Sponge.
Do I Double Cleanse in the morning?
Although Double Cleansing is not necessary in the morning, I do find precleansing with your oil and then jumping in a steamy shower or using a steamer is a great mini facial for the skin and perfect start to your day.
The Benefits
Double Cleansing not only deeps cleans and preps your skin for the rest of your skincare routine; being consistent will help your skin's texture, brightness and clarity. Oil attracts oil (dirt, grim, SPF, life) which is why it is so important to do this as a precleanse prior to your traditional nightly cleanse. Following up with your second cleanse, allows the product to penetrate the top layers and go deeper to pull out anything that may be remaining.
